CEDIA EXPO High-end home cinema
StormAudio has released more details about the immersive theatre demonstration that it’s staging at CEDIA Expo with PMC, and other partners, including madVR Labs and Barco Residential.
Taking place in Sound Room 6 (SR6), the 15.7.8 channel home cinema system is built around StormAudio’s ISP Elite 32 Analogue processor, which supports up to 32 channels. A new ADEC decoder brings compatibility with all major immersive formats, from Dolby Atmos and DTS:X Pro through to Auro-3D and Sony 360 Reality Audio. Six StormAudio 8-channel amplifiers provide the drive, promising high output with low distortion across complex loudspeaker layouts.
As previously reported on Inside CI, PMC has configured SR6 with a studio-grade speaker array. MB2 XBD loudspeakers handle the front channels, while ci140 models are deployed for surround duties. PMC ci65 height speakers reproduce overhead effects, and six BST subwoofers deliver controlled low-frequency energy. For added impact, a debut appearance comes from the Deus Audio Machines Invicta 60, a 60-inch infrasonic subwoofer designed to reproduce frequencies below the threshold of human hearing.
On the visual side, Barco’s Heimdall+ CS projector provides a 6,000-lumen RGB laser image, with ultra-quiet 29dB operation allowing for in-room installation. The projector’s HDMI 2.1 inputs also make it suitable for high-frame-rate content and gaming applications.
Video is processed by madVR Labs’ Envy Extreme 8K, offering dynamic HDR tone mapping, AI-based 8K upscaling, MotionAI frame interpolation, and advanced subtitle and aspect ratio management. The processor also integrates with motorised screen masking systems, ensuring content always fits the screen precisely.
Supporting components include MC² Audio D100DSP and D100ND amplifiers, valued for their sonic transparency and stability, while Defining Cinemas, working with Eleanor Rigby Home, supply custom seating. Acoustic treatment is provided by Simplified Acoustics’ BDP panels, which employ new Binary Amplitude Diffusion techniques for more effective control of off-axis reflections.
