Sweden-based Dirac has teamed up with StormAudio and Perlisten to showcase the most advanced and immersive home theater demo ever delivered at High-End Munich from May 18-21.
The exhibit will provide attendees with the opportunity to experience an unprecedented level of home theater sound that combines the intelligence of the new Dirac Live Active Room Treatment software with StormAudio’s powerful ISP Elite MK3 Immersive Sound Processor and a THX Certified Dominus Perlisten 11.7.6 surround sound system. The demo will be presented at Messe München in Atrium 3.1, rooms D111 and C112.
The custom-built home theater room is designed to show off the capabilities and patented technologies of Dirac Live Active Room Treatment (first shown at CES 2023 this past January). This technology can optimize audio output for any system with two or more speakers, in any room, reducing the need for expensive physical acoustic treatment products.
From Fredric Tapper, Dirac’s Vice President of Home & Pro Audio: “The home theater we are showcasing at High End 2023 combines the latest advancements in room optimization, audio signal processing, and speaker design to deliver a mind-blowing sound experience that will set a new standard for audiophiles, custom integrators, and their clients…By reducing the need for passive tools like bass traps or wall treatments, the new easy-to-use Dirac Live Active Room Treatment software can deliver theater-quality performance in rooms of any size or shape, allowing more people to enjoy elevated experiences in the comfort of their own home.”

The StormAudio ISP Elite MK3 Immersive Sound Processor provided for the Show demo provides up to 24 channels of decoding and upmixing for the most sought-after immersive surround formats including Auro-3D, Dolby Atmos, DTS:X Pro, and IMAX Enhanced, while also offering 32 channels of post-processing, the most advanced version of Dirac Live, and the state-of-the-art StormAudio Expert Bass Management.
From Olivier Thumerel, CEO of StormAudio: “With the debut of this custom demo system and our upcoming integration of Dirac Live ART, we are redefining expectations for ultra-high-end systems,…StormAudio has consistently raised the standards for peak system performance and immersive audio through advanced engineering, and we’re excited to add Dirac’s newest innovation to all our products so all our valued customers can enhance their home theaters even further with spatially optimized output.”
Tip: Dirac Live Active Room Treatment will be included, at no additional cost, in all StormAudio units that were ordered from January 1st, 2023 onward through a firmware update in Spring 2023. StormAudio units purchased before January 1st will be upgradeable with Dirac Live Active Room Treatment after the Spring 2023 firmware update by purchasing a license from Dirac’s online store at $299.
The 15-seat demo home theater is the first THX-certified Dominus home theater ever showcased at High End and utilizes an impressive Perlisten 11.7.6 surround sound system that includes S Series In-Wall Speakers and seven D-Series subwoofers.
From Lars Johansen, Chief Sales Officer, Perlisten: “Audiophiles and high-end clients acknowledge that Perlisten is the top choice for theater-grade sound reproduction that ensures clarity and accuracy for every type of content, which all High-End Show attendees will be able to experience for themselves in this custom luxury demo space…When complementary technologies arise that can help us explore and invent new standards of performance and effectiveness, like the groundbreaking Dirac Live Active Room Treatment, it benefits all of us to work together and deliver novel solutions. We’re thrilled to help create this exciting space and event for the show so we can give industry insiders, professional integrators, and the general public their first look at the future of home theater audio.”
In addition to the Dirac, StormAudio, and Perlisten, other components featured in the demo include Dan D’Agostino power amplifiers (models not specified) for the front channels, and StormAudio PA 8 Ultra, and PA 16 power amplifiers for the remaining channels. The source devices include a Kaleidescape player (most likely, the Strato C with a Terra Server) feeding a Barco Njord Projector. Screen brand and model information not provided.

There used to be a magazine called (I think) “Audio-Video Interiors. I subscribed to look at the what they wealthy were doing and to aspire to one day having something like they did albeit a LOT less expensive and fancy.
This 11.7.6 set up is for the wealthy and I have no problem with that for if they earned the money they an certainly spend it how they see fit!
But it is too much for me. 🙂 I bet it will sound great in the right (read: HUGE!) environment. Casa de’ORT is not that environment, LOL!

About Stomr Audio, I have heard around $24.000 for each processor and amplifier.
If I want to replace my first TECHNICS amplifier class A : $2500 (bought $400)
If I want to replace my old high-end NIKON Camera : $5000 (bought $3200)
If I want to replace my old corean car, to an electric one : 40.000 (bought 22.000)
Strangely enough, during this time my salary has only increased by 20%, which is very good. But I lost purchasing power… 🙁
The market is coming crazy 🙁

CherryLi,
If you think the market is crazy you need only look at the maroons that feel they should control it by controlling us.
I wish you all the best in upgrading your equipment!
